It seems only a few days since one very proactive lady assembled a group of villagers (2 metres apart!) and asked them to find a way to ensure that the village was prepared for what lay ahead.
Fast forward 24 hours; and a framework was in place to find out who needed what and how it might be delivered.
Two days later the whole community had pulled out all the stops to form a network of volunteers to provide whatever support might be necessary to anyone in need.
Now, fast forward one week, and our community has come up with a Framework with over 300 volunteers, catering for 1000 + households, which looks something like this:
How does it work?
Key to this Framework is the Network of Volunteers to provide the eyes and ears in the air
with the feet on the ground
in order to ensure that nothing slips through the net and every need is catered for.
Each of the zones has a lovely Coordinator, ably supported by a number of wonderful volunteers, and every household should know who their Neighbourhood Coordinator is and how to contact him/her. He/she should be the first point of contact for every household.
Meanwhile the Hub Team are working super hard to provide everything that anyone might need. All the detail is being uploaded to this rapidly developing website, which is being updated daily and everyone is encouraged to use this as the first port of call for all queries.
